embracing my inner 1950s housewife

So shall I tell you about my Saturday? Woke up to a very damp (not in a good way) welly. Went to spend inside time with the Divine Ms G. She made chai latte. God it’s good. The same effect as milo. But tastes like a proper grown up drink. Wrote out a couple of recipe’s and then high-tailed it to the supermarche for supplies.

And then the combined domestic goddess influences of G and Ms Bean overtook me. It was back to #54 for weekly spruce up (Etta James on high volume). And then I put on my flowery apron to demonstrate rediscovery of cooking mojo (George looked a little scared). I baked a feijoa cake with lemon icing, and then Scrumptious Chicken Lasagne (with Cheesy Surprise), the consumption of which was almost a religious experience and it totally scored me a wining point in the Inaugural Winter Decathlon (details to come).

Science Guy arrived home after glorious 4-1 win at football. I discovered after his play by play account, they are actually a bloody genius team. And in keeping with sporty theme we watched Crusaders beat Hurricanes in rugby semi-final thing. Poor yellow guys. I actually yelled instructions at the screen (those of you who know the extent of my sporting knowledge should stop falling about laughing).

All round a rather excellent day.
