Five: New play at Bats ‘The Last Five Years’. It’s a musical covering the life of a relationship, she starts and the end and tells their story backwards and he from the beginning. Science Guy and I were sat behind talkers. Who does that? Eventually I leaned forward and whispered a few short words around theatre etiquette which seemed to do the trick.
Four: Driving George home from the vet on Tuesday at dusk and facing the full moon in a clear sky. It hung low and huge over the Rimutakas. Stunning. I saw a shaggy haired man stop at the top of Paroa Road, take his headphones out, and watch.
Three: Pirates Cove Mini-Golf, Porirua. Event three of the Inaugural Winter Decathlon (details to come). I totally kicked ass for about the first 5 holes. Then some bad things happened and I lost my crazy golf mojo. But it’s like a best of 3 event, so there is still time.
Two: Watching a rusty old tractor pull a boat out of the sheds at Titahi Bay on a blustery Sunday afternoon. Oh and pashing at the end of the beach :)
One: The messy southerly that arrived last night, bringing general cold storminess to the south coast of the north island. Which means a weekend of scrabble and dvds and cracking open a central Otago pinot or two in front of the fire. Yay for winter!

my advice is, don’t pash science guy at the end of titahi baytake him to the airport with a bucket of kentucky fried, you’ll really get those windows steamy
Yey for pashing! Your post about your mum was just lovely – I hope Harper thinks of me with as much affection and love when he’s older.
