lucky number 9

The last holiday I had with Mum was a weekend in Tuaranga for a family friend’s 40th. For those few days, a weird pattern began to emerge around the number 9. Rooms numbers, restaurant tables, receipts, car park numbers all either a 9 or a 19. Since then this number has become part of my life and it pops up all the time. It has become a talisman of sorts. A good luck charm.

And to carry on this theme, in 63 days I will land at Heathrow, on the 27th of January. Science Guy leaves on the 9th of March.

And while this is all feeling quite lucky, neither of us are flying Qantas (thereby greatly reducing the odds of dying in firey ball of melted plane).

Qantas is the world’s safest airline. It has not lost one single passenger, nor a single plane, in all of the jet age.

That may be Poneke, but the half a dozen events of late lead me to think that there are serious issues with how the planes are being maintained – something is going wrong in the process.I’d rather not take the risk.

Oooh – creepy coincidence alert! I too am plagued by 9s and 3s. My birthday is 12/12/1972, and for a while I went out with a man whose birthday was 9/9/69. We were born 3 years 3 months and 3 days apart. Everything is in 3s and, by the power of cubes, 9s. Crazy.

Yes it’s threes for me too! How weird, 9s and 3s. But I do like the symetry of the cube and the trinity and the 9 planets and 9 numbers and stuff. Also the boy was born on the 18/09 so I know he’s a keeper :)
