the first lady

Michelle Obama is on the cover of Vogue this month. The focus of the piece is obviously fashion, but she manages to discuss more than just her role as dress-up doll. It must be quite odd to adjust from being relatively anonymous, with a senior role in her own right, to the phenomenon of the First Ladyship, so steeped in history and tradition. And expectation.
