Not sure if this song is really “summery”, but The Feelers “As good as it gets” always brings back memories of NZ summertime for me – twice, when coming home for a break, they played a section of this song just as we began to descend into Auckland (“this is real, this is as good as it gets”) – it brought tears to my eyes, gave me goosebumps, and made my heart swell and race fast enough to overtake Michael Schumacher, because I knew I’d be seeing my family within hours. Even when I listen to it now, the “smell” of the NZ summer hits me (the way it does when you disembark from your flight after spending years away).
Me again. I have no idea why I am suddenly showing up as ‘Louise’ rather than ‘Lou’ – most confusing. J9 I love that Feelers song. Fishing for Lisa also another good summery one. Boohoo summer’s gone….dark and colder here in the mornings already.
Ours went back a few weeks ago, and already we’re feeling better. Yay for sunshine!
LOOOOOVE this song. the guitar solo is killer. I love Dinosaur Jr. for summer but that’s just me.
