‘And when the ducks stood on their heads suddenly, as ducks will, he would dive down and tickle their necks, just under where their chins would be if ducks had chins, till they were forced to come to the surface again in a hurry, spluttering and angry and shaking their feathers, for it is impossible to say quite all you feel when you head is under water’ ~ The Wind in the Willows by Kennneth Grahame. Glorious!

Comments

You have immaculate taste in movies. And isn’t The Stand superb?
I’ll do this.
yay! nothing like a good meme to get your teeth into :)
Did you like <>What I Loved<>? Because it was what I didn’t.
You realise I’m going to have to activate my BRAIN for this.
Jo – I read The Stand about 15 years ago and it’s just as good this time.
Mo – just grab a good book a blanket and go to your local park. Then if it does get cloudy/rainy you can get home. And hey, no traffic :)
Mr LS – 4 stars. I really enjoyed it.
Robin – I really meant Stars Hollow, but you know, thats just a tv set that doesn’t exist anymore.
Mr LS – what else you got for sale?
The loveliness that is the English summer?
You’re kidding right? I mean, when it is sunny it is nice. But it is so short, and unpredictable, and oh the traffic…
Cool post! We have lots in common.
Interesting answers, running a bookshop would be great.
