The ‘Tit Tax’ is gone! Justice has prevailed!
For years M&S have charged £2 more for bras over a DD cup. And while I get that it costs a little bit more for materials, this is around a 20% increase in the cost of an average M&S bra. A Facebook campaign was launched by a group of ample bosomed ladies (Busts for Justice), it was picked up by the Evening Standard, and a few days later M&S released a full page ad, apologising. They are now offering discounts galore.
So does this mean that our lack of faith in business and the whole Economagedon, is leading to more transparency? I hope so. Of course the reportage has been uniformly awful. Beckie Williams (who started Busts for Justice) has had her bra size published in every article relating to the story.
Also none of this changes the fact that M&S bras are a bit shit.

This is hilarious! An add’l tax on larger cup sizes…must’ve been a man that made that decision! LOL… thanks for stopping by my blog, anxious to page through your since it looks delightful…

LOL @ Nanc!!!
lol I was reading about this yesterday and saw the apologetic ad, the power of Facebook is scary!
I actually quite like some of M&S’s underwear , that green set they’ve used in the ad is really pretty.

Many thanks for keeping us abreast of the situation…
As a DD wearer myself, I can relate to the unfairness of pricing 20% more for a larger cup size. There certainly is not 20% more wiring and fabric than the D size. Don’t penalize me because I am more amply endowed, society penalizes me enough as it is. Kudos to Beckie, I like a girl with moxie.
