So this weekend, I learnt that bloggy meet-ups enable the cutting through of the small talk shit. You go straight into the heart of everything, because there is no need for niceties when you already know each other’s story. And so it was on a sticky summer day in Bath, that Susannah and I spent the best part of 24 hours talking. Non-stop. About pretty much everything. It felt like a conversation that started quietly years ago, and we’ve just turned up the volume. No topic was taboo; from hairy chests, mint vs ginger tea, the potential for building a baby on etsy, music, men and the merits of Mr Brosnan: Thomas Crown Affair (oh yeah) to a brief stint as Bond (nonono). There was the soul stuff too: death and loss and how Larkin was so right. We ate noodles at Waga’s had coffee in the park in the stripey chairs, Sus made a feast of pizza and panzanella and Sunday lunch was a saporous picnic at Jamie’s. I am still a little drunk on the goodness of this weekend’s love, food and chat.
Last night in Sus’ lounge, I slept deeply, and dreamed in vivid colour.

Chapter Two: Sas & Sus take over London! :) x
Sounds like a great time. Totally agree re Brosnan and TC Affair.
It’s lovely how friends you make online can be more real than other friends before you ever meet them in person, and meeting them in person can be amazingly natural.
Mo – a bath in Bath may sound like it makes perfect sense but these things can be disappointing. For instance, one of my friends went to Eton and scoured it in vain for anywhere that was serving Eton Mess. That said, I’m sure you can get a sandwich in Sandwich, and a deal in Deal.
Aww sounds like a lovely weekend! I’m quite jealous! Glad you both had a nice time :)
And what about your friends sitting down on the grass behind the chairs, did you chat to them? ;)
The first thing I would like to do if I go to Bath is have a bath, it makes total sense.
