So the weekend went something like:
- Made ‘Lets-just-forget-this-shit-week’ Friday night romantic dinner for two out of kiwi pinot, table cloth, candles and dead baby lamb.
- Saturday = eleventy million pages of readings for second uni assignment (which I now completely resent and hate and have lost all interest in but Sweet Jesus, 8 years is long enough to finish a post-grad diploma).
- Got halfway through Style Statement (could be anything at this point).
- Science Guy arrived home from watching Fulham play some other team. Fulham lost.
- General disorganisation meant dinner before movie morphed into mystery meat burger at McDonald’s, inhaled in less than 3 minutes (by the way the last time I had a McDonald’s burger was about 15 years ago (George Street, Dunedin) and the Saturday night burger tasted EXACTLY the same. So yay McD’s you got your quality assurance thing totally down).
- Movie was awesome. A lovely meandering road-trippy, love story. It was funny and sad and had Alexi Murdoch songs in it (which are brilliant). And that kiwi chick that bashed her mother over the head with a rock? You know the one. And then she became the crazy-yet-lovable stalker of Charlie in Two Men and the Chubby Funny Younger One? Yeah her. She was in it.
- Sunday = more bloody readings and started assignment #2.
- Had picnic on riverbank with 857 tourists. Went to Globe and saw Love Labour’s Lost. Twas grand. Then we wandered along the Thames as night was lovely and St Paul’s was all lit up.
- Black Cab home with Genuine Cockney Driver.
- Did it twice.

twice on sunday. yeah man, that’s how i roll.
Mmmm, dead baby lamb.
I was tempted to see Away We Go until I realised it was by a director I don’t like from a script written by an author I loathe. So I went to see (500 Days Of) Summer instead. It’s the sort of film I would have loved 10 years ago. But things move on.
they have a mcdonalds in the university union now, by where the library used to be. right opposite poppas pizza. theres a drive through and everything.
