So my little project ends this evening with a blood donation at Chiswick Town Hall (praying I don’t get Hepatitis/HIV/Mad Cow from the whole ‘bodily fluids in a public place’ experience, which would be just my fucking luck). I managed to do quite a few on the first day when enthusiasm and love for fellow humanity was at an all time high. Due to weekend away and work overload I honestly couldn’t be arsed with cooking for company. But I bought loads of coffee and tea for colleagues so that probably adds up to nearly a meal. TP emailed me her Awesomest Ever Choc Cupcakes reciepe and I will crank those out for impending dinner party. The Divine Ms G was over the moon at her NZ House & Garden subscription and Science Guy liked his list. The most fun was making the hope notes. And then wandering along my street deciding what random car would receive a postcard tucked under the wiper. I felt quite giddy, as though I had this brilliant secret. Like I was ‘Anti-Parking-Ticket-Fucktard Woman’. Or something.
The process has shifted my thoughts a bit. Maybe that would have happened anyway with a little time passing, but I do feel more grounded, less knotty in my belly. Getting yourself out of crapass head space through power of giving: recommended.

@B copy away doll! I have no idea what happened to the postcards or the folks who received them. My street is quite long so I just chose three random numbers and put them on the car outside the number house, or if they had one of my numbers in the registration plate they got the card. Will definitely do that again :)
I really like the hope notes, and I’m seriously considering copying (I mean, getting inspiration from!) your idea and leave it on random cars. Did you stay around to see what people did?
@Mr O that would be an awesome thing to do.
I just got home after trying to donate blood and unfortunately I am unable due to surgery I had as a youngster on my heart. SO disappointed!
I saw your post about this list the other day and it inspired to want to do some at some point (like paying for the meal of the person behind me). I might step up today, time permitting, and face my fear of needles and give blood
congrats on everything, but mainly for the bloodletting.
That is awesome that you were able to get this done so quickly. I recommend continuing some of those things though.
I love doing hope notes. Well done on completeing your list. And what’s happening with the Bath plans??
lovely notes – i’ve been meaning to do some of these for ages and still not got around to it!
