friday five: dreaming of escapes after eleventy hundred days of winter…

Dunton Hot Springs, in the San Juan Mountains of the Colorado Rockies is a beautifully restored ghost town. It has a spa. And a waterfall. And probably ghosts. And we are totally going there on the Great American Road Trip™.

I could spend an entire day in that hammock. I would require the services of a young man to bring me vodka cocktails. And perhaps something to nibble on. Go to the Maldives before they pave paradise to put up a (fishy) parking lot.

The 1954 Spartanette could actually entice me to spend a night or two in a caravan (I think I have just about recovered from the debacle that was the 1989 Family Holiday at Kaiteriteri Beach Camping Ground).

In Santorini, the Perivolas have been created out of sculpted stone. One of the rooms has a pool in it.

A jungle hotel and spa in Mexico anyone?

The hot springs is in the area of Colorado we went last-last year (urgh, way too long since we went!). It's a fantastic area, we both really, REALLY love it up there, esp in summer (winter == 4 feet of snow everywhere)Ask to see the pics of there when you come over next week – we have lots. :)We stayed here: http://www.bluelakeranch.com/

Oh God. I can't believe I just strolled in here to see if you had posted. Do you know how grim Belgium is? It's like Dunedin, on a grey lifeless Sunday … Beautiful beautiful photographs of places I would rather be. Presently counting off days until Italy. Back to Genova, mid-May – thank goodness!

Yes to Santorini, well, if the strikes and general financial mayhem don't prevent you from getting around!

The rain is pounding on the roof right now, and it rained and blew a gale yesterday. When I lived in Colorado I visited several hot springs, missed this one. I think the beach in Mexico has my name written in the sand…
