Well just how awesome is Skype? Since Science Guy fixed the camera, my pre-Skype preparation is way more complicated, but for the best part of an hour this morning I was able to see the gorgeous face of one Ms Bea Tomes. I highly recommend this as a way to commence ones Sunday.
We spent this rainy day enjoying lunch at the country pub that will be the sight of our impending nuptials. It’s in a tiny English village, near the river. The food is amazing, the staff attentive and in my head, our day will resemble something like this. It was a treat to be able to take Science Guy’s folks who are embarking on a celebratory post-retirement jaunt through this green and pleasant land.
And is there anything better than a post-lunch nana nap? I fell asleep listening to the rain on the windows and woke up to hear Science Guy and his Dad discussing the cricket (as I had spent Saturday gardening and listening to Radio 4, I was struck again that eventually we all turn into our parents :)
Here’s a cracking good song from the new National record. I have been listening to it all weekend:
And courtesy of rex, an extra treat.
How did you spend your days off?

Lamenting the loss of my sweetcorn which I forgot to put back in the greenhouse and consequently got frosted, purchasing further sweetcorn seeds, lifting daffodils which I’ve decided I don’t like the colour of (but potting with a view to planting out the back on the edge of the wood), manning the Jam-making Ladies annual Plant sale, potting on various stuff, dividing plants, tiredness forcing the need for an hour or so in bed after lunch today and just about to have a bath accompanied by a glass of wine.

Oh sas, what a gorgeous wedding you linked through to – so fab! I could see you in a red rose dress like that one too! Where is the pub again – I seem to remember that they do picnic hampers that you can take to the riverbank – what an enchanting idea! Love the grooms hat too! Em x
