Today I just want to curl up in an overstuffed chair next to a blazing wood fire, my feet in a pool of winter sunshine, and read.
I want to exchange witticisms with strangers on twitter.
I want to peel and chop and roast and whizz-up veges to make soup. And bake bread from scratch.
I want to spend an hour marvelling at the furry magnificence of sleeping cats.
I want to fold fresh laundry and feel the unequalled happiness of a clean bathroom. And then I want to soak in a deep, hot bath accompanied by Radio 3.
I want to sit and stare out of the window across fields and meditate with the cows. And then write something that makes my heart sing.
I want to know the fridge and pantry and bank account is full enough.
I want to stop the world so I can get off.
I want to find my purpose feel brave enough to make the changes to allow the new dreams to flourish.

Isn’t it strange? I’m lucky enough to be able to do (or am doing, or will be very shortly) at least six of the things in your list and I’m still not really content. The grass is always greener, eh?
It’s a wonderful wishful list. There doesn’t seem to be any time left over in there for work in there, but these wishes are much more satisfying, I’d think. I want the last one, too.
By April-end, I will probably be able to spend weeks, months, years doing all of your list on a daily basis. It’s making me rather breathless with fear. Breaks of time out are wonderful but endlessly stretching ahead? Oo-er.

Yes I get that too – the day I wrote this, I just wanted to escape and it would be amazing to have this from time to time. but i think i need the noise and chaos and demands sometimes too.
A lovely and very beautiful collection of simple wants.
Best of luck with finding the bravery to make more wonderful things happen in your life! :)
i want that for you too
great list! The last one is the best when we finally take the plunge and do it, although it forever changes. Good luck :)

Don’t tell me the picture is of your home??? Oh such a cottage…it would breed such activities you write about. I absolutely LOVED this post. It lifted me up and filled me with joy and appreciation. Thank you!

the cottage is in devon – i’m sorry i can’t find the website! but you can stay there :)
thanks for dropping by x
I love this post. I adore that cottage. Where is it located? It is so lovely.
If you run across the website, would you please send it to me. Both my Mother and Daughter LOVE anything England. Devon as in Devonshire? Oh, I have a made passion for cottages. My husband’s cousin is a photographer and went all over England taking pictures of Cottages. We have two of her photos….I love Thomas Kincaid’s paintings for the same reason.
When I was single and raising my daughters, it took me ten years after my divorce to buy my own home. I bought a little house from the 50′s and made it like a cottage on the inside. I just LOVED that home.
I really loved your list. Those are the things I love to do as well…it makes me feel alive and appreciating the simple things.
Have a great weekend.
