I checked the WeatherPro app eleventy squillion times last week; by Wednesday it seemed that the building of an ark may be necessary. By Friday evening it was clear that all of the WeatherPro app people were just PRETENDING at meteorological knowledge as I looked out of a window of The Olde Bell at the torrential rain. Leonie, Lisa and her daughter Mahranda, Penny and Cam were fabulous distractions from the impending soakage. On Saturday morning, post-bacon, eggs and coffee, we put the bunting up in the misty crappy drizzle. And while it had been expertly well-hung, (thanks Cam ;) it looked a bit pathetic. But a few hours later I heard the first toots from the tuba outside; the croquet mallets were being swung, the Pimms was being poured and the sun broke through (three days later and England is in the middle of a heatwave – today has been the hottest day for 5 years).
Once I saw the sun, I just kind of relaxed. And the day was perfect. So full of love and friendship and happiness. And champagne. The food was spectacular; both from The Olde Bell and our new best friend Charlotte from Restoration Cakes. Our guests were gorgeous. The ceremony was light and funny and moving and we both cried. I am kind of overwhelmed by how amazing it was. We are both in this bubble of love, its a little sickening and yet awesomely wonderful. I have a few memories I really want to share over a couple of posts, and of course Pen & Cam’s official photos.
Below are some shots Sus took on her trusty pola about 15 minutes after the ceremony. I love her so much for seeing these moments.
Perfect.

A week or so before I got married, someone I briefly met said that there were angels at weddings. At the time I thought her comment a bit twee and was a bit “meh” about it. She was right tho’, the following day it did feel like there had been angels there and, whether or not they were the same angels or different, but looks likely they were at yours too.
